Last time, our employee spotlight was all about Dave Wells. Now, it’s time to say hi to another one of our fantastic Horizon team members: Pat Myers. As one of our Regional Sales Managers, Pat’s leadership is instrumental in ensuring we can support our customers with leading fiber-optic Ethernet, Internet and cloud-based Hosted Voice services.
In our recent chat with Pat, he let us in on some details about his role at Horizon, his background (we’re talking decades of sales and management expertise here) and beyond.
Can you tell us about your role at Horizon?
Pat Myers (PM): I am the new Regional Sales Manager for the Columbus, Ohio, market.
Tell us about your background and how you came to Horizon.
PM: Currently, I also serve as the Fiscal Officer of Genoa Township in Delaware County, Ohio, and have been for the past 14 years after being elected initially in 2007. But I have been in sales and sales management for 25 years working in various markets and in the telecom industry, and the Horizon team seemed like a great one to be a part of.
What do you most enjoy about working for Horizon?
PM: The Horizon employees and customers are what make this job both exciting and enjoyable. Working with our professional teams to provide customers with strategic solutions to make their business more efficient and profitable necessitates creativity and dedication, and I enjoy seeing how the results of our joint projects set our customers up for even greater success.
Any recent exciting projects at Horizon that you can tell us about?
PM: At the moment, my team is working with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, for a five-site solution that is designed to yield excellent results. The Horizon team brings a wealth of insight and experience serving the healthcare industry with agile, secure solutions, so we’re excited to bring this project to fruition on behalf of the hospital.
Where do you live?
PM: I live in Genoa Township in Westerville, Ohio — a suburb that sits 10 miles north of Columbus.
Where did you go to school or get training?
PM: I am a Franklin University graduate with a degree in Business Administration.
Tell us what you like to do in your free time.
PM: When I’m not on the job, I like to spend time with family (my wife, Terri — we’ve been married for 33 years — and my son, Maxwell and his Fiancé Jacklyn, who are 23 and 21 years old respectively). I also like to work out at Orangetheory Fitness and play golf.
