In our last employee spotlight, we were pleased to introduce you to Gary Campbell. This time, we’re turning our attention to a different side of the Horizon team to help you get to know one of our talented NOC team members.
Meet Holly Glassburn, a Horizon Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager. Undoubtedly a critical member of our team, she’s instrumental in ensuring our network delivers the utmost reliability. So, without further ado, let’s meet Holly.
Can you tell us about your role at Horizon?
Holly Glassburn (HG): As the Network Operations Center Manager, my primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and manage the NOC staff — as well as the overall network — to ensure the ongoing stability of Horizon’s infrastructure on behalf of our customers.
Tell us about your background and how you came to Horizon.
HG: My career started at Horizon in 2010 when I began in Customer Care processing mail payments, and I filled in at the receptionist desk. From there I moved on to level 1 technical support. While in that position, Horizon started the BTOP project, which gave me the opportunity to learn something new…fiber! I moved on to be the first NOC technician and over several years in the NOC, I am now the NOC Manager.
What do you most enjoy about working for Horizon?
HG: This probably won’t be a surprise (and might be an unoriginal answer at this point), but it’s true: The people! I’ve worked in different departments and business units here at Horizon and everyone is like family.
Where do you live?
HG: I’m located in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Where did you get your training?
HG: All my training has been at Horizon, and all of the knowledge and insights I leverage now came from the amazing mentors I’ve worked with over the years.
Tell us what you like to do in your free time.
HG: I still have two young boys at home — they are 12 and 9. We do a lot of outdoor activities and sports that keep us busy when I’m not working.
